How to show only unread messages in Gmail

Many times accessing Gmail through the web page I feel the need of a button like "Show only unread messages". To do that I accessed through IMAP on Thunderbird and sorted by read/unread, but of course this is not a comfortable solution.

Surfing the web I found an easiest solution, just go in the search box and type "label:unread" or "is:unread" (without brackets of course). This will filter just the messages that are marked as unread, showing them as a search result. So if you have a message received more than one month ago, and you still haven't read it, you won't have to go through the pages looking for it, but it will just be shown in the firsts pages of results...

Acer Aspire One Won't Boot (BIOS corrupted)

After switching off the aa1, when trying to turn it on again, it just shows blinking leds and the fan is turning. But the screen remains black.
If your aa1 does like this probably its BIOS has been damaged...

Luckily the Acer Aspire One has a built-in BIOS recovery routine, making it possible to flash the BIOS even if the system doesn't boot anymore.

Please note that the process I'm about to describe is only meant for emergencies and may void your warranty, so use at your own risk.

1) Format a USB memory key with the FAT mode.
2) Download the latest version of the BIOS from Acer support website:

HERE if you have a Aspire One A150
HERE for the Aspire One A110

3) Extract the files from the zip and put both the FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file in the root directory of the memory key.
4) Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD and then remove the disk.
5) Turn the AA1 off, insert the battery and connect the AC adapter.
6) Insert the USB Memory Key into one of the USB port of the Aspire One.
7) Press Fn+Esc, keep it pressed and press the power button to turn the AA1 on.
8) Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds, the power button will be blinking.
9) Press the power button once. The AA1 will start the BIOS flash, do not interrupt for any reason. After some minutes the power button will stop blinking, and then the AA1 will reboot. Wait till the AA1 has completed all this operations.

If everything has gone right, the BIOS is flashed and all settings are reset to default.

Acer Aspire One Slow Wifi

Using my Aspire One I noticed that, in spite of an optimum signal level, the surfing and page opening was slower than on my Aspire 1680. Looking through the web I found many other users saying they were experiencing this problem and I found suggestion for a solution that for me is working...

It seems like a problem with the power management of the wireless adapter.
To solve it you have to go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager. There you have to expand the Network Adapters and right click the wireless adapter (Atheros...Wireless Network Adapter), then choose Properties and go to the Advanced tab. Now you have to select in the left column the Power Save Mode and set it on the right to the Off Value. Finally press OK and close the device manager

Di seguito, in risposta alla richiesta di MaRcO, spiegherò brevemente come ho inserito le foto di flickr che sono visualizzate nella parte destra del blog.
Premetto che la procedura che di seguito presenterò non è frutto del mio ingegno, ma è un adattamento di quella presentata su veerle's blog in questo post.
Per prima cosa sono andato nell'editor del layout del blog e ho creato nella parte destra un nuovo modulo HTML/Javascript.
Nel modulo ho inserito lo script del banner statico Html di Flickr, in questo modo si riescono a prelevare le foto, io ho scelto la modalità random:

Siccome questo script si limita a prelevare le foto e le ripresenta incolonnate, ho inserito delle formattazioni nel css interno al blog.
Questo primo tag definisce le dimensioni dell'area che ospiterà le anteprime:

Quest'altro imposta invece le dimensioni delle singole immagini e le distanzia le une dalle altre:

Non occorre dire che il servizio in camera risulta un po' lento..."
